Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem.

This is my favorite walking places– a place of inspiration for my November writing — a poem a day plus writing 1667 words every day for NaNoWriMo. [for more information see my post: I Write]. It’s magical in November, with the maple leaves falling as a golden carpet for the mule deer.

Further down the path: golden maple leaves-- a carpet so soft for the mule deer taking an afternoon nap.

And so it becomes part of my novel, with a haiku that tells of its magic.

Wrapping her coat more tightly as the snowflakes fell in a gentle cover, lightening the world with each crystal touching the golden leaves carpeting the path to the creek, she stepped slowly, quietly so as not to disturb the napping creatures as she headed to the gathering circle of ancient stones.

Autumn Carpet

Gold marks the woods’ path
with leafy jewels, carpet,
soft, for its creatures.
