Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Dogs as pets are part of the family. They get nicknames. Guthrie has a few: Bear, Goofy, Delightful, Disgusting, Little John. He’s huge, so I sometimes call him Little John– from Robin Hood, because he’s huge, but so huggable and puppy-like.
The lucky dog walked twice today at Crescent Bay, getting in plenty of “sniff walk” time.
During my walk with him, we walked on the beach a while and I caught him in one of his athletic jumps– he just stands there, then all of a sudden, he jumps up and turns, arching his back like little foxes do when they are playing. His ears are flapping, his tail is wagging, and you know he’s laughing and smiling with joy.
Like Sesame Street: J Jump Joyful Jump all around! That first part I often say when something happy is happening or someone is so excited about something. “J Jump Joyful, jump all around.” And that was Guthrie today.

And so, a poem…
