Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem.
Sitting on the couch, reading, and I hear this behind me:
So I quietly get up, camera ready, to capture Guthrie in his latest antics. Here he is [above] shredding a shopping catelogue, evidence on his chin. He stops and stares at me, caught in the act, as if to say, “What?”
He flicks his tongue out to remove the shred of paper on his chin.
“What? And who made this mess?”
Puppies and dogs chew. Training them to chew the right thing is quite another matter. Notice the appropriate chew toy is available for him.
For help with your dog, see ASPCA on Chewing.
And so, the poem…
Poetry
Paper Shredder
Dogs chew:
Sheri Edwards
teethe with pain,
bored, nothing to do,
anxious, alone,
jaw health.
Toys required—
Brains are wired—
Teach them better
So not a paper shredder.
