3 kid created gingerbread houses

Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. For years at our holiday gatherings, the grandkids created gingerbread houses. They formed little teams and worked at the same table to design the houses. It was such a fun, joyful time, getting the icing to work, sticking on the sweets, eating a few. These three were from nine years ago on Dec 27, 2014.

Grandkid Gingerbread

Grandkids team up
Two here, three there
choosing sweets
squeezing icing
houses of gingerbread
memories planned ahead
a joyful time, we laugh and sing;
that’s what holidays bring.

  1. How many grandkids do you have, Sheri? And how many were decorating? These are adorable! Did they eat them?

    I just want you to know that now I’ll be able to take time to read more of your posts – I’ve decided (kind of my decision, kind of Elon’s, kind of my silly self not setting up two-step authentication earlier when I was logged in) to be off Twitter, so now I’m reading – and enjoying – more posts!! I’ll also be writing more – your dailies are an inspiration for me. xo

    1. We are so fortunate to have eleven grandkids and three great-grandkids! In 2014, there were nine kids teaming up to help each other decorate. And there was eating, although probably not the whole house!

      Yes, Elon ruined our community space. Ugh. Are you going to blog more? I’m also on Threads, Mastodon, and Blue Sky. Just waiting to see which one others choose. I haven’t decided which one I like most yet because I don’t spend much time in any of them. Hashtags work on Mastodon. I joined the artistic DS106 cloud there. https://social.ds106.us/about

      Looking forward to your reflections, as always help us “shift”!

      1. I think I’ll blog more, but I won’t get on the others. I’m going to learn to live without them. 🙂

        Eleven grandkids and three greatgrandkids?! Yes – so fortunate! So fun during the holidays, too! xoxo
