Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem.
On weekends we start the day together with coffee, tea, mud, or cacao shell tea. On Saturday, the mugs are clear glass. On Sunday the mugs are glass etched with grave vines. Every weekend. It’s our tradition. We start the days together, reading, in conversation, enjoying the morning light together.
We sincerely appreciate one another’s thoughts and feelings. We thank each other often for the little things that make daily life better.
There are no words for Scott, or rather too many, and most importantly I am only me because we are we.
With each other, we are patient and considerate; we take things as they come and we find the way through difficulties together.
For us, no matter the dark, the sun is rising.
Poetry
the sun is rising
no matter the dark, the sun is rising
on Sunday morning coffee cups
etched with grapes and leaves
a memory of our togetherness:
candid conversation
independent thought
nurturing one another
appreciating what each brings
thankful for the peace
the joy
the love
we create in our lives
because we make it so
we choose it so
no matter the dark, the sun is rising.
