A Little Note

The Thought:

This variety, Rose Woodsii, or commonly as Woods Rose, grows up to ten feet tall, filled with pink blooms in May and June.. As we walked Guthrie on the abandoned highway by Banks Lake, we caught the rose’s fragrance on the wind all the way to the lake. Beautiful.

Poetry

Rose Woodsii

Close your eyes when the wind blows
on the shrub-steppe by the lake,
And the woods rose scent follows you—
The “breath of fresh air” that you take.
