Welcome!
On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. This Wednesday Wrap Up shares a busy week for art — a quick review and back to my holiday collection.
Review of the Week
I continued with more projects from Summer Creative Retreat by Peggy Dean at The Pigeon Letters and from Lisa Bardot’s Art Makers Club community, creating a mini-collection:
- SCR: Tea Towel — Winter 2025 themed— a discussion on limited palettes
- SCR: Monochrome Florals — painting and birthday card
- Lisa Bardot: Creating a Mini Collection
I plant to make a mini-collection with the monochrome florals. The SCR class, One Color Magic: Loose Watercolor Florals with Nikki Hess of Lavender And Sea, a lesson in monochrome with watercolor, provides several idea for florals to try.
Evergreen Cozy
As I said previously, I am illustrating a few cozy holiday birds for my hero art for the collection I’m illustrating for the July CatCoq challenge [@CatCoq everywhere] . Yes, I’m catching up. I had reviewed Liz Kohler Brown tutorials in Affinity Designer and some videos and templates from Rebecca Flaherty [on Cara and YouTube ]. Read the WrapUp about the project: Busy Week — scroll to the middle.
I have finished the bird floral pattern for the project in Affinity Designer and am now working on more coordinates. This mockup is also in Affinity Designer from a wonderful class on Skillshare by Tracey Capone.

See you next Wednesday
So this week has been very busy, with more SCR and collections, returning to the Evergreen Cozy on my list. I also want to work on an alphabet book — there’s so much to do! Thanks for stopping by! My husband is dishing up blueberries and cream topped with cinnamon… so I’ll wish you a successful art journey for the next week!
