Welcome
On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. This week, in fact this month, will be short on art and filled with poetry; I’ve purchased one pattern challenge notebook and created a silk painting birthday card.
Birthday Card
A granddaughter enjoyed her birthday yesterday, and the above illustration is her card. It’s a hermit thrush in silk painting style, one of my favorites. I adjust it a bit from my original, which looks like this:

HotHouse Florals Challenge
As I noted in my previous post, I did put the pink, green, and almond Hothouse Floral designs on RedBubble so I could purchase notebooks. The challenge: Spoonflower Hothouse Florals Design Challenge. This is my favorite pattern — I revised it so many times, but I love the motifs, the flow of the vine and leaves, and the hot house flame torch and orchid florals.
I love these notebooks!

My friend asked if the RedBubble notebooks are fountain pen friendly. I ordered these notebooks for the fountain pen I just ordered that is like my friend’s pen. The paper is thin, but it is not bleeding through and the ink dries quickly. I love the smooth writing of my new fountain pen too.

These are on the way from Spoonflower: Fabric in Bold HotHouse Floral Vines in Bright Pinks Greens with almond background
I hope you take a look. If you would like the other color backgrounds, let me know; I’ve only placed the almond there so far. Thank you.
Poetry
I continue to write a poem a day for National Poetry Month and National Poetry Writing Month.
My daughter’s favorite of all of them so far is this week’s haiku for Earth Day, Spring:

I hope these poems, simple as they are, written from the heart and often not true to form or poetic quality, inspire you to start writing down your own nature studies, or heartfelt realities.

PS. Do you know if the notebooks’ paper on RedBubble is fountain pen’s friendly?

I just tested it out with the fountain pen like the one you shared on FB, and it wrote nicely — no bleeding through. Does that help? I’ll put a picture in the post.

Yes– being in nature in these times really helps calm the soul. Thanks for comment. I do love this pattern; I spent much time revising, as I said, and it turned out so great on the notebooks. I, too, would love these sheets.
