Renaissance Style Art

Today I started a class by Liz Kohler Brown on Renaissance art. So far I’ve tried two styles, which you can see in the image above:

• Top: Rinceau style — sketch/ outline;
• Lower: Grotesque Style with sketch, outline, and inking

Liz says this style of art is trending– people want the sketchy, hand-drawn look and not AI generated art.

I like the Grotesque style when it’s animals and foliage like we learned today. My chickadees aren’t perfect, but they aren’t meant to be.

Next up we are learning how to create versal letters.
