For the past many weeks, this blog has hosted “Wednesday Warm Up,”— a day of usually quick drawing, inking, brushing as warm up to our serious art. I share a strategy to try each Wednesday using the iPad app ProCreate. I usually only use the brushes in the app— there are so many I haven’t tried that warming up with a new brush will be an added bonus and challenge.
Today, a bit more about Off-Kilter / Funky Illustrations as in a prior week. I love these when I’m watching tv or can’t get into my projects — I warm up with a quick off-kilter funky floral.
I was very disappointed in the funky leaf image above — because I forgot to turn on the replay video settings, so I can’t show you how I played with shapes and textures– brushes from Skillshare artists and their classes.
But this fun plant with puffy circle flower balls was also fun to make.
Here’s the replay:
If you want directions, last week’s Funky Florals should help– video, slides, pdf available there.
So please try to tweak some of your doodles into this style. If you discover another style that is similar, be sure to share. And, be sure to share to #warmup4art . Looking forward to your sharing and discoveries.
