Welcome!
Each Wednesday check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate. This Wednesday Wrap Up explains my process for illustrating something totally out of my world: sea coral. And, I restricted my illustration to Este Macleod’s limited palette prompt 29 for #coloricombo #estemacleodclass.
Inspiration and Resources
My inspiration is the daily doodles which my CLmooc friends doodle every day.
Today, Lisa Bardot’s sea prompt is: A fun ocean scene: Coral
- Brushes: Procreate noise, Lisa Bardot’s Bonus Brush Set from her Art Maker’s Club.
- Palette: in Este Macleod’s limited palette prompt 29 for #coloricombo #estemacleodclass Baby Pink, Marshmallow Pink, Cool Mint, Muted Teal & Sage Green.
Process
Today I decided to create a video screencast of my process — to walk you through it. I hope it clarifies how I went from the unknown with a limited palette to interpret my own version of sea coral. I hope it inspires you to just give yourself the time and creative energy to do your own thing while making art every day.
Try It
So, that wraps up this Wednesday Wrap Up. I hope this inspires you to take a look at a reference photo to help inspire you to create something unique and your own.
Take a look at Este and Lisa’s websites for inspiration– there’s course and community, and many free bits of help. So click on over for some fun.
I look forward to your sharing, and please continue to be a part of the #warmup4art series to learn and enjoy our work together! See my sharing at IG @42Sheri and Twitter @42Sheri.
