Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Oh– due to the changing climate and the extreme heat we’ve had, as well as the wildfires causing unhealthy smoke-filled air, our family has not met in the Coulee for years in the summer time. It just would not be fun, nor healthy. This year would have been good, but people are wary of travel and Covid. Such a life we live in.

I miss the days of cousin chatter and laughter–and yet– they are all almost adults. Two have started their own families with one delighting us with a great-grandson. One has started her own business. We are watching the next generation live life to their fullest, despite the obstacles life is throwing. I love them dearly and forever for the strength and love they provide in the world.

Waves of Summer

Missing the days of summer
When the lake waves wash us cool
As the sun beats down in searing heat
And cousins swim the waves of blue.
