Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. In November, when we watch these huge birds walk by, we wonder if they are worried about Thanksgiving. Scott says they taste “gamey,” whatever that means. They remind me of velociraptors, and I’m so glad they are simply turkeys. Audubon explains that “beard” hanging from the front of the turkey— they grow continuously!

Confidence

Red-head, steady stride
the mumbling, grumblers
daily peck with pride.
