Coulee walls of Banks Lake, WA showing the inspiration: Flat layers of clouds Flattened basalt formations Flat coulees filled with nature: prairie bunch grass and mule deer FLAT Flowing clouds stretch into the beyond Lingering above towering basalt walls— Ancient lava rivers later leveled by glacial floods Teeming coulees, endless ravines of nature’s bounty. Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. Today’s FlashFeb prompt is “Flat,” and as I browsed through my photos– I could see in this photo of the coulee walls at Banks Lake,WA:

  • Flat layers of clouds
    Flattened basalt formations
Flat coulees filled with nature: prairie bunch grass and mule deer

It’s a beautiful scene of the winter season, and we never tire of it, always amazed at all the history behind it.

And so, a poem and photo for #FlashFeb FLAT:

FLAT

Flowing clouds stretch into the beyond
Lingering above towering basalt walls—
Ancient lava rivers later leveled by glacial floods
Teeming coulees, endless ravines of nature’s bounty.
