Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. We’re old. Our bodies are not what they used to be. Our weeds wait for us to pull them and plant flowers, but we struggle. And yesterday we found our one peony plant blooming– just one peony blossom, as usual, and we smiled. And snapped several pictures. And I wrote a poem…

Poetry

One Peony

Every year it grows among the weeds
we struggle to find the strength to conquer—
and always every year, just one—
just one lovely pink peony,
A stunning glow in the green.
