Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. Steamboat Rock State Park on Banks Lake in Washington State provides camping, boating, swimming, concessions, walking paths, hiking, below the amazing Steamboat Rock.
Here’s the north end of Steamboat Rock at the entrance to the boat dock and swimming area with concession stand behind us. The scene struck me as we ended our walk in 80 degree weather, staying in the shade of the trees as much as possible. This area of the park is filled with trees — tall cottonwood and poplar trees, a few quaking aspen, and some pine and maple. It’s a beautiful place at any time of the year for walking. And here you see the rock and the weather, which brought a spring storm that lasted about thirty minutes with much needed rain. And here is the moments before— the rock, the heat, the shadows and shade, and the brewing storm. Beautiful.
And so, a poem…
