Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. This photo popped up on my iPad today. I remember taking the photo with the fly. The arrowleaf balsamroot bloom in May and June. Native Americans ate the young stems as treat, my friends say, and the whole plant is edible. They are one of my favorite flowers, and like lilacs, must be enjoyed during their short blooming period. The leaves eventually die back, waiting for next year’s blooms.
