Daily Note

Every day, a photograph, a poem. A memory popped up today of one year ago, just outside of Coulee City, Wa, about thirty miles south and west of us. A crew of harvesters and bailers and other machinery harvested the crop in a precision dance of men and machine. It was truly amazing. We took some video and watched for quite a while.

I am thankful our soils still produce and that the farmers and ranchers keep pace with the science of dealing with keeping the soil fertile despite the years of working the land and the new threats from climate change. Their efforts of research and toil feed the world.

Toil

Thankful for the soil
and the farmers who toil
for the food that we eat
from mother nature’s feast.
