On most Wednesdays, check this blog for a strategy, process, or reflection for illustration with the iPad app ProCreate or Affinity Designer. I’m taking Delores Naskrents Affinity Designer MasterClass to learn more about the tools in Affinity Designer. This week I also played with watercolor tiles in Affinity and color in Procreate for #makingarteveryday #MAE2025 with @bardotbrush with @lisabardot and Ana Bianchi @analovescolor.
Curious Color
Every day is a new prompt for #makingarteveryday #MAE2025 with @bardotbrush with @lisabardot and artist Ana Bianchi @analovescolor to experiment with color. I use the app Procreate for these in quick drawing sessions. I try to focus on certain brush sets and the color palette that matches the day’s prompt. Take a look at each post for information on the process and on the brushes and color palettes:
- Butter Yellow — a bit of realism with butter in a dish
- Mint Is A Color — the process is explained
- Sky Blue Maple Yellow — oh I love this one; used two brushes; spent time on detail
- Lavender Lovely — the process and color exploration in this autumn landscape
- Champagne and Raspberry — attempt at drawing glass shapes, textures, and shading
- Fluffy Ducky — lots of yellows
- Tulips and Apples — a bit of midcentury play with reds and greens
Watercolor Tiles
I’m taking Delores Naskrents Affinity Designer MasterClass to learn more about the tools in Affinity Designer. This week I played with watercolor in the Pixel Persona of Affinity. That means that resizing will not be possible, but the result is stunning. Check out the process in Affinity Watercolor Tiles. The entire process from sketch to finish is completed in Affinity Designer.
