
Blaugust 2026 Meditation
While pausing to watch the water wiggle with the wind, I noticed the small pile of rocks on the fluctuating shore. And the way the gentle waves rebound off the rocks on the shore forming a circular ripple, nature made to ponder.
Lake Roosevelt is a reservoir behind Grand Coulee Dam, so the water fluctuates as the Columbia River Basin’s needs are met and the water is saved or used according to those needs. So these rocks will eventually tumble under the water.
But that won’t stop another beach walker from pausing to create another rock pile, to mark a favorite fishing spot or just to leave a mark that others pause to wonder about…
