Daily Note
Every day, a photograph, a poem. On our way to our granddaughter’s wedding, we discovered a new Grant County PUD [Public Utility District] recreation area, Sand Hollow, on the Wanapum Reservoir on the Columbia River. We chose this route— leaving I-90 at the Vantage Bridge on the east side of the river and heading south through wheat and orchard country, a much better drive then over the I-82 route through Yakima after a harrowing drive over the Manastach Ridge with every semi-truck in the state!
On the way back, we stopped in Sunnyside, WA for a to-go lunch and ate at the Sand Hollow Recreation Area. After lunch, we enjoyed a walk along its walkway through the day and camp sites, which include camping sites for those who are handicapped. In the image above, you can see a fiber path down to the beach for wheel chairs. Handicapped camping areas include cement areas for easier movement.
It’s a great place to stop.

And so, with a pop-up image of the scene, I decided to write a poem.
