Inspiration
Lisa Bardot sponsors a daily “Making Art Everyday” prompt, complete with ideas and tutorials for getting into the daily art habit. This month’s theme includes Photo Doodles. Doodle away on a photo [use photos that are not copyrighted]. Lisa also has a Art Makers Club that provides even more tutorials and helps in a sharing and supportive community. One of those videos provided a Live Lesson which I followed on its replay to create the unicorn above.
Photo Doodle Art
POP ART Photo Doodle
The first part of the Live Lesson was making a pop art tulip style photo doodle. I used a photo of the daffodils in my yard to create my own version of this:

Vibrant Doodle on Photo
Next, we created a unicorn from horse photo. I made a few changes: I changed the saddle and other decorations to fit something I’ve seen in parades. I also used hearts instead of flowers as part of the decoration.
Mushroom Doodle Photo Art
Finally, Lisa demonstrated how she created a night scene from a day scene of mushrooms on a tree, then adding doodles to create a little mushroom city. I used a photo I’d taken recently on one of my daily walks to create my own night time mushroom city.
How fun is that?
